“St. Michael’s Church of England School, established upon Christian foundations, and living out the Christian faith, is committed to providing every child with an excellent education.”

We promote our Vision through the key words:

‘Create – Equip – Partner’

At St. Michael’s CE School, RE forms an integral part of our school ethos and culture as it feeds into our curriculum, our policies and our daily life. The pupils at our school embrace learning in RE through the delivery of  RE lessons within the class, drama and theatrical workshops, trips out and through visiting speakers talking about their faith. Through these opportunities the pupils are able to develop their understanding of RE and ask questions to deepen their own personal knowledge.

Religious Education has strong cross curricular links with other subjects and this was clearly demonstrated during the week commencing 5th November when we decided to showcase RE across our school.

During the week staff and pupils enjoyed a variety of activities that involved history, music, art, drama, PSHE and English through our Remembrance themed week.  The following photo-stories give a celebratory overview of what took place, from theatre workshops, poetry  workshops, history lessons, the most amazing Remembrance Art Exhibition and all culminating with the awe-inspiring Remembrance Service. We were delighted to be asked to contribute to the SDBE Newspaper ” The Bridge’ and an article about our remembrance was included in the December issue page 7:
