“St. Michael’s Church of England School, established upon Christian foundations, and living out the Christian faith, is committed to providing every child with an excellent education.”
We promote our Vision through the key words:
‘Create – Equip – Partner’
As a Church school and part of the Southwark Diocesan Board of Education we promote that ‘Religious Education (RE) is not just an academic subject, but, lies at the very heart of the curriculum and has an important role in reflecting and conveying the distinctively Christian character of the school’ (SDBE website).
St. Michael’s is a Voluntary Aided Church of England school and so the Board of Governors is responsible for the syllabus for RE. and also ensures, by delegating the responsibility to the Headteacher, that RE is timetabled to take place each week for all pupils, in accordance with the Trust Deed of the school. Furthermore, the school adheres to the Church of England Education Office ‘Statement of Entitlement’ .
