Speech and Language
Speech and Language Therapist
The Speech and Language Therapist in our school is:
Jo regularly comes into school and can be contacted through our Inclusion Department. As speech and language therapists she always like to talk!
When Jo comes into school she will do a variety of consultations, training, observations and provide resources for us to use. This will include:
Observing children in their classroom to gain an idea of their communication skills.
Take children out for 1:1 sessions with a Teaching Assistant to assess and review their progress
Offer advice and provide resources for the school to use
Run / support communication groups, either for children on the speech and language therapy caseload or those who need an additional communication boost.
Speak to parents, teacher and the Inclusion team who are with the children every day to get a vital insight into their communication.
