Meet The Nursery Team

Mrs Susi Bawn – Early Years Foundation Stage Leader and Nursery class teacher

Mrs Bawn is an experienced teacher and leader who has taught in all three primary key stages. She is especially passionate about the Early Years, and loves the opportunity it gives to present children with a rich and engaging environment in which to learn through play. She arrived with us in September so is new to us as a teacher but is not new to the school as a mummy, as three of her children are here! She is also our Early Years Foundation Stage Leader. Mrs Bawn loves baking (in particular chocolate chip cookies), playing the piano, and painting furniture… although there isn’t much time for that during term time! Mrs Bawn will be teaching Orange class and Blue Class children and will be in school Monday – Wednesday.

Mrs Felicity Kneen –  Nursery class teacher

Mrs Kneen is an experienced EYFS teacher and leader and is passionate about the Early Years. She enjoys seeing the children flourish through high quality, play-based learning. When she is not running around after her own two small children, she loves being outside pottering around in her garden. She also loves making things out of cardboard boxes (fuelled by her addiction to buying things on Amazon), and cooking – but only if she doesn’t have to decide what to make! Mrs Kneen will be teaching Blue class and Yellow class and will be in school Wednesday – Friday.

Early Years Practitioners

Ms Michelle Gottler – Nursery Nurse

Ms Gottler is our fabulous nursery nurse who supports all of the children in our Early Years Foundation Stage. She runs small groups, takes children on visits to the sensory room, supports teachers in class and leads play sessions in our extra classroom, Rainbow Room. We are very lucky to have her. Ms Gottler is easy to spot around the school as she is usually wearing bright rainbow colours!

Miss Christine Young –  Nursery Teaching Assistant

Miis Christine Young is our fabulous nursery teaching assistant who supports all of the children in our Early Years Foundation Stage. She runs small groups, support teachers in class and she loved the look of our nursery so much that she is coming back to Southfields having left to go back to Australia.
