At St. Michael’s Music is celebrated across the school. It is the a subject that is taught by two specialist teachers – one in Early Years and Lower Phase and one in Middle and Upper Phase.

Music plays an important role across each term. There are regular performances and concerts for both pupils and the parent/school community. By clicking on each tab you will be able to gain an overview of what takes place and is celebrated.

Learning Through Music

We are very fortunate at St. Michael’s to have a Music Teacher who is trained to run Learning Through Music programmes for selected children. These programmes involve small groups of children in fun, interactive, weekly sessions, which are designed to develop learning skills, such as listening, turn-taking and self-esteem, as well as enhancing their musical ability. Children really enjoy these sessions and it is wonderful to see their skills and confidence grow.

Concerts and Performances

At St. Michael’s the children are encouraged to take part in different musical performances involving drama and singing. Each term there is an event that involves performing in either a Church Service, concert or external event. Please refer to the calendar for when the events take place and also to the review section of the weekly ‘Web Updates’.
