COLLECTIVE WORSHIP
In our school, worship reflects the traditions of the Church of England.
Each week we follow a specific worship theme across the school. The themes are Christian based and reflect our mission, vision, ethos and the Gospel Values. We also incorporate the weekly message about the distinctiveness of our school through the ‘special school message’ and also a link to the British Value and our school ‘Growth Mindset’ Value for the week ahead. These themes are displayed in each Phase area as well as in the classroom on a weekly basis so that the children know what the theme is each week and can relate to it during our worship.
While we emphasise Christianity as a cornerstone of our identity, we are committed to ensuring that our collective worship reflects the diverse society we live in and the unique composition of our school community. We strive to create an inclusive environment where every child and adult feels valued and welcomed. Through a values-based approach, we encourage children to contribute their perspectives and experiences. We also actively promote greater awareness and understanding of other beliefs, faiths, and cultural festivals, enriching our collective worship and advocating mutual respect within our community.
Worship is integral to our school life, offering opportunities to:
• Reflect on Christian values and teachings.
• Celebrate the Christian calendar.
• Unite as a community through prayer and song.
Weekly Worship Schedule
Monday: Introduction of the theme by the Headteacher.
Tuesday-Thursday: Continuation through clergy, phase leaders, and classroom worship.
