SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT
Spirituality is central to our ethos, defined by staff and pupils as “the journey of connecting with God, ourselves, and others through love, kindness, and service. It is about nurturing a sense of wonder, gratitude, and purpose, growing in wisdom and character, and living out the values of humility, gentleness, and compassion so that we can flourish academically, personally, and spiritually in God’s guidance and love.”
Key Elements:
Connection with God: Recognising God’s presence in our lives and seeking His wisdom and love.
Inner Growth: Developing a gentle and quiet spirit, as described in 1 Peter 3:3-4, and understanding our own purpose and worth.
Relationships with Others: Showing love, kindness, and service to others, as Jesus taught.
Flourishing: Encouraging personal, academic, and spiritual growth for every child, guided by Christian values and the example of Christ.
Sense of Wonder: Cultivating awe and gratitude for the world around us, inspiring curiosity and a deeper connection to God’s creation.
This definition reflects your school’s commitment to holistic development and living out Gospel values in a meaningful and faith-filled way.
This is developed through:
Collective worship sessions with time to reflect and consider key questions
Time within lessons to consider how what they are learning impacts on their spiritual growth
Reflection areas across the school.
Interactive prayer spaces.
Lunchtime “Kingdom for Kids Club,” offering creative exploration of faith
Parent and Pupil Feedback
