At St. Michael’s we pride ourselves on the variety of enhanced extra-curricular clubs we provide. There is a club running every day at St. Michael’s which enables children to enhance and extend their skills, knowledge and talents as well as build their confidence and resilience!
We aim to further enhance our broad and balanced curriculum to promote the spiritual, moral, social, cultural, creative, intellectual and physical skills of our pupils. They develop their understanding of how to keep physically healthy, eat healthily and maintain an active lifestyle. Pupils can work on their team skills and take part in challenges. We offer debating opportunities along with art and performance clubs to give children the opportunities to explore new interests and develop existing ones.
The enhanced extra curricular provision is outstanding at St. Michael’s and are run on a voluntary basis by the staff across the year. The dedication and commitment of the staff is amazing as they are keen to go the “extra mile” and provide additional opportunities for the pupils so they are fully equipped and ready to contribute to society. In addition to the clubs, the school also competes in out of school hours Inter-school and Borough events. These include: Football, Tag Rugby, Netball, Cross Country and Athletics.
Clubs Information
Please note, not all clubs happen every week and parents should check the clubs timetable for the term. If a club has to be cancelled parents will be informed via email/telephone call.
The weekly cost for each club is £8 (£4 for a lunchtime club) and the money generated from clubs is reinvested towards supporting the sports coaching and workshops we provide for children at school.
Safeguarding Quality Assurance
We have letters of assurance form all organisations who run clubs at our school. These are retained in the School Office.
The Designated Safeguarding Lead at St. Michael’s CE School is the Headteacher. Every club leader has been DBS checked and this is compliant with the government’s statutory guidance, Keeping Children Safe in Education.
All clubs must adhere to the following government guidance:
