Working Together For The Good Of All

“St. Michael’s Church of England School, established upon Christian foundations and living out the Christian faith, is committed to providing every child with an excellent education.”

HEALTH & SAFETY

The Senior Leadership Team and Board of Governors of St Michael’s CE School recognise their corporate responsibility as an employer to provide a safe and healthy environment for the teaching and non-teaching staff, the pupils and other people who come onto the premises. They will take all reasonably practicable steps within their power to fulfil this responsibility and acknowledge the diverse communities that are part of our school community to ensure that values and beliefs are adhered to under the united umbrella of providing a safe and caring environment in which the pupils can flourish and all those associated with our school feel safe. This is all achieved through regular monitoring and assessments, 'walking the school site' to ensure that the school premises are safe and  ensuring the policies and procedures we have in place as outlined below are adhered to. This also includes our duty as employers and leaders to fulfil the requirements under 'Keeping Children Safe in Education' and all that the government document entails.

Monitoring of Health & Safety

Annual inspections take place and are carried out by an external health and safety representative. The most recent overview is below:

In addition to the annual Health & Safety Inspection,  the Headteacher and the Governor Lead for health and safety meet on a termly basis and carry out a review ensuring that the school remains compliant between inspections.
